Timo Andres’ Austerity Measures uses Bach’s first two-part invention as a jumping off point for a journey through unimagined sound worlds. The first work commissioned through TCP’s new Emerging Composers Partnership\, Chicagoan Ben Hjertmann’s Automatic Glitch recreates complex electronic effects acoustically with 4 identical drum sets\, and ensemble member David Skidmore brings us a new work for keyboard instruments and tuned pieces of wood and metal. \n
