The incredible women of HDSC perform Jirí Kylián’s “Falling Angels\,” which is set to Steve Reich’s ”Drumming\,” performed by TCP. \nHubbard Street also performs\, for the first time\, the “precision-crafted and multilayered” (The Observer) choreography of Crystal Pite; “Cloudless\,” a duet called “perfection in its unification of choreography\, music and lighting” by Germany’s Main Post; and a world premiere by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano inspired by Tchaikovsky and George Balanchine. \nClick here for more info. \n  \n

This first Currents concert includes new works by Adam Cuthbert and Third Coast’s own Robert Dillon\, as well as a new work commissioned through our Emerging Composers Partnership by Jonathan Pfeffer.  Percussionist extraordinaire Ross Karre joins TCP for Mark Applebaum’s kooky and inventive Straitjacket\, and contemporary flute master Rachel Beetz joins TCP for Tyshawn Sorey’s Trio for Harold Budd. \nThis event is 18 and over\, and may contain offensive language or other adult content. \nThis concert is supported in part by a grant from the Paul R. Judy Center for Applied Research at the Eastman School of Music.
