The music of GRAMMY® Award-winning composer/performer Jessie Montgomery is featured in a dynamic program that showcases her excellence as a visionary creator. At the center of the program is Lady Justice/Black Justice, The Song, her new work composed specifically for TCP that draws a vast universe of sounds out of a compact set of instruments. Violinist Simone Porter joins TCP to perform Lou Harrison’s Concerto for Violin with Percussion Orchestra–a tour de force that draws inspiration from the vibrant sounds of Javanese gamelan. This program also features captivating works by Armenian jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan and recent Pulitzer-finalist and frequent TCP collaborator Jlin. The World Premiere of a new work for Jlin and Third Coast Percussion to perform together caps off this unforgettable evening.
