Where are you from?
Pittsburgh, PA
What is one thing about yourself that you want everyone to know?
Variety is the spice of a musician’s life! I am a performing marimbist/drummer, sound engineer, producer, composer, teacher, and amateur contra/swing dancer. I am allergic to an empty Google Calendar.

What are you up to these days?
I am entering my second year in the Master’s of Sound Arts and Industries program at Northwestern University in the fall. Before that, I’m headed out to Jackson, WY to stage manage at the Grand Teton Music Festival.
When did you intern with TCP?
March-June 2026
How did you connect with TCP?
We first met during my undergraduate percussion studies at Northwestern when the ensemble acted as guest instructors for our percussion ensemble. We reconnected a few years later at the Grand Teton Music Festival, where I work during the summer.
Did you gain anything from the internship that you’d like to share?
During this internship I got to learn all about the process of producing an album with Third Coast Percussion. I worked closely with Colin Campbell, TCP’s production manager, from the very beginning of pre-production all the way to sending our recordings to be mastered. I also got to collaborate with Cale Koester, a composer friend of TCP, to transcribe his piece Rift for publication.
What else did you do while you were interning?
Grad school! I’ve been building my portfolio as a music producer and sound engineer. During this internship I produced my first two commercial releases: Oration on the Dignity of Woman by Safety Scissors and Event Horizon by Ava Brennan. I’ve also been performing on marimba with Ava and drums in my band Ducksaliva.
Did you leave a legacy or mark on the organization that you’re particularly proud of?
I am honored to have acted as assistant producer on Vernacular, Third Coast Percussion’s forthcoming album.
Favorite memory?
The Vernacular recording sessions. I can’t believe I got to spend a week working at Electrical Audio on some truly incredible music. An unforgettable experience through and through.

If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
Fred the Horse from Over the Garden Wall
A funny or embarrassing story from the internship?
We recorded a variety of instruments for Vernacular, but the Whirly Tube takes the cake for most entertaining. And who knew Peter Martin was so good at playing it?
Our interns can experience every part of TCP’s organization, from visiting recording sessions to writing grants and everything in between. We accept interns almost year-round.
